I Cannot Sing, Though, Wish I Could

I cannot sing, though, wish I could

but silence at this precious time

seems more meaningful

and would be the right thing

to calm the tender and fragile air.


Sadness should be surrounded by serenity

just as tears must be shared with empathy.

Pain, where care is most needed.

Listening, its kindest cure.


So, I will be silent as you cry,

near as you grieve and

patient as you recover.
