Reason is no more,
Respect dead.
Sympathy dissolved.
Courtesy rare.
There is separation, ridicule,
cheating, insult,
derision, dismantled hope,
doubt and freezing fear.
Take time to put empathetic thought
to deed,
give care when speaking,
help those in need.
Have patience when listening,
embrace and warm the frail,
be wise with your counsel,
be fair to yourself when you fail.
Encourage the down trodden,
lay down arms for peace,
know nothing’s for certain,
keep wonder in reach.
Hold strangers like brothers.
Be thankful for others.
Create community.
Share values. Cherish family.
Laugh with me, not at me.
Judge gently the past.
Make new memories,
Share love that lasts.
