Have you ever watched a banana on your kitchen sink, how, over the course of a couple of weeks, it slowly goes from green to vibrant yellow to spotty to soft and dark to mushy; then, you throw it away because the fruit flies get to it and you wonder why you didn't eat the darn thing when it was yellow and, now, you've wasted money on another banana that you had every intention of eating on a peanut butter sandwich with a little honey and
a glass of milk?
Well, that's what happens to old people. They age like bananas, especially the spotting and getting mushy. It's hard to toss out a banana when it gets mushy. I mean, you could
use it to make some banana bread. (You haven't done that in years, you tell yourself).
Then, there's all that prep and the dishes to wash up. Why bother?
Why bother with old people?
Old people ARE the banana bread! They've aged and spotted and become the perfect ingredient for your tasty, warm, delicious treat with a bit of melted butter and a cup of
coffee, on a rainy day, while you watch the fire.
Enjoy old people. Old people are banana bread.
